Hi There
I am new to this site and not sure if this question is in the write place

here goes
I parked my car up whilst I was in hospital un locked and was not moved for 3 weeks
it started about a week ago and I went to put some air in the tyres
went to start it the next day and all it did was turn over
at first all the lights did not come on,on the dash
after reading the hand book I suggested that with it standing I needed to enter the EKA no
so off to land rover to obtain it put it in yesterday had the 2 bleeps at the end
it still would not start ,hubby came home locked it and unlocked it it started and ran
this morning no go again
also the interior light is very dim
sorry to go on but I am now ready to tear my hair out with it
can someone please shed some light on this
or has anyone had the same problem
thanks:confused:

like the other lz member said it sounds like a weak or failing battery.go to halfrauds and get a free battery check.;)

hi thanks
we have put volt meter on battery and it is reading 12.41 output
the same as our other cars battery oh I picking a new battery up for the
key fob today

hi
I don't think so I will get o/h to try that
I fell stranded living in the middle of nowhere
it is annoying that it started last night and we are back at the beginning again today

If your plips are working as in locking and unlocking the doors and the engine then cranks but won't start, I would start by checking for a crank signal as the starters go faulty and give of a magnetic field that interferes with the crank sensor. then with no crank signal the injectors don't fire hence none start.

I can't see anywhere where it says what model you've got but I have found TD5's to be rather vulnerable to any loss of battery power in some cases, for example by not being run for a few weeks. So give the battery a really good charge and try it again.

Yes, it sounded a bit TD5 like. I've read somewhere (probably on here but I can't find the post) that the ECU's can be temperamental if there's any drop from peak voltage. Looking at your initial list of symptoms it sounds very like what my friend's TD5 does sometimes, especially if it has been standing for a few weeks. If we give the battery a good cook for a few hours, or overnight, it is fine.
