Lefts and rights are always from the drivers point of view - sitting behind the wheel. 
Surely you need to replace the pair - as I can't see how one side can be that much worn than the other.

You'd have thought so.
Had an advisory on the car's MoT last week saying that there was wear in the OS track rod end. No mention of the NS at all.
I'll still replace them as a pair though.

off side is drivers side in the uk and where ever they drive on the left
They look suspiciously like drop links, not track rod ends!

You thought you were asking a daft question - and you got a daft answer.
What I said in post 2 still holds good though - replace both trackrod ends.
Even with counting threads and all those sort of dodges, you really need to get the tracking checked so why not just do it the once after fitting both at the same time.

I always replace 2 track rod ends and that is because if you have one that has gone the other will soon follow because I think it has extra strain on it from the other sideYes - the pics show nice shiny new drop-links.
