Drilling one of Pressbrakes x-members

Looking at your photo's, it doesn't look like you will have much room for nuts and washers for the M16 bolts in the front, due to the thickness of the cross member material. I,m only looking at a photo, and giving an opinion..

No worries there is plenty of room.

Ok, here you go;

So it looks like a Dixon plate, but its not, its home made and again 8mm thick;

Discovery drop plate modded to fit onto a dixon drop plate that's been mounted at 90degrees to the normal orientation. Ingenious bit of home fabrication.

Front bolts are M16 as standard the ones coming up undernearh are M10 by 30mm usually

I'm not familiar with your cross member. Is it square hollow section? Which would mean my post does make no sense, as the nuts and washers would be on a flat surface on the rear face of the section. Or is it 6mm plate formed in a U channel, as I assumed (maybe wrongly). If it is, I thought the 16mm holes would need to be drilled too close to the bottom wall of the section to have the room to then fit M16 nuts and washers. It makes perfect sense to me, but perhaps I'm not explaining it very well.

I fitted it all up before I took it to my mate for welding, it fits fine, I will post pics from the back once I have it back, its easier then trying to explain. In the mean time here are some pictures of the of Pressbrakes x member, a work of art!

No worries, yeah I couldn't be more pleased with it, I just need the bloody thing fitted, painted and some underbody-seal on the back, then I can start carting some sticks home again!!!! Cheers

Are the sticks for the fire? I got bloody stuck in the middle of a field a couple of weeks back. I was cutting up a downed tree and got the greedy eyes on when loading the trailer up. Had to get the father in law up with his old JCB and pull me out. Defender first and then the trailer. It was like a bloody bulldozer on the way out

Yeah, I work as a contractor/arborist/tree butcher, and I'm having to leave lots of sticks behind at the moment! Not good
