All done......
Front is fine.
Rears replaced............
But.........
£70 for 2 discs.
£25 for pads
£45 Labour

£168 including VAT
The point is...
I used the garage I have used for years....ex Scoda dealers.
Unipart center. Not the best value for Landy parts.
I asked the owner if they could do my Landy....."Yes, no problem"
But, as the mechanic said "Four by fours!........I f****** hate em!"
Horses for courses I suppose.
Nothing against them, but will look elsewhere.......Famous Four, maybe.
However, all sorted. So alls well that ends well.

You was robbed on the parts.:eek:

Depends on the brand. A quick look online suggests that Mintex or AP discs can be had for well under £20, whereas "performance" ones with grooves start at around about the price paid. Similarly with the pads - Lockheeds can be got for a little over a tenner. So I'm hoping that Dsalkeld has got premium brands for his money!

paddocks drilled and grooved discs are £36.50 a pair

FRC7329SD | Paddock Performance Brake Discs (pair) - solid - slotted and drilled

Lockheed or mintex pads are £12-£18

The £45 paid for the labour sounds reasonable. A non main dealer garage is around £48 + vat an hour around here.

Yeah, I've used this garage for years and they are fair.
The parts were Unipart and the man in charge this morning admitted they would be cheaper from another supplier. But they are tied to Unipart.
I got a quote of £80 for front and £70 for rear discs and Mintex pads from another parts dealer in town.
Made a decision afterwards.......
I have enough good mates who are OK with a spanner so probably going to maintain her myself.
And hopefully with a bit of advice from you guys :)

UPDATE
Driving along this afternoon and she started vibrating, only 6 miles. Gets into town and at slow speed there's a clunk clunk clunk.
Well, went to get diesel and check tyres.........only the bloody wheel nuts loose :p
Tightened them up. Thank God I found em :-\
Definitely not taking her back to this garage
