I want to mount a couple shackles on my ARB bumper, but where?

If it dosent have any recovery points on the front, think you might be ok to use say a 3" strop rapped around the bumper. Criss crossed between where it bolts to the chassis rails, then have the end loops come to a head in the middle and join with a shackle. You should be able to pull from that, it will spread the load evenly.

You could also put a jate ring on each chassis leg so that you could use a bridle setup for equal pull for recovery as that splits the load over 2 points rather than 1 recovery point ;)
Thats what i've got on my defender (have a look at my pics :) )

i fink them ARB bumpers use the points on the chassis legs for the bumper mountings.

So you cant put jate rings on :(

i just googled ARB bumper and some versions have places to attach jate rings others don't.

Here Natas, can you get a closer picture thats a bit bigger?

I emailed ARB, they say that the holes just below the the jacking holes will acomodate the shackles.
Unfortunately I am now at work and Pumkin is at home.
However, I really thought that I would have noticed something like that ???

I will check it out when I go for lunch and will try get some close pictures.

Thanks.

OK, so here is some better pictures(I hope) of the ARB.

Here you see the front, there are 2 holes, a round one , I assume for a jack and the sqare one below.

Under the sqare hole is this round hole about 3/4", is this where I put the recovery thingy?
If so whet do I use?

yup.

So you put the pin down. So you protect the thumb screw on the pin. Then the bell on the shackle is facing up and down.
