diagrams needed for starter and alternator

Hi, I've just fitted a 2.5n/a into my series 3 all is fine except I'm totally confused on where the wires go for the starter and alternator as I've had to buyba New ignition barrel aswell. Please please has someone got any wireing diagrams for this. Many thanks

there is a circuit diagram on the back of a McFlurry container

ignore BoB try an intro in the intro section then search the series threads you should get answer there. Please have a read and look round site before you get flamed and abused

theres wiring diagrams in a haynes manual if you cant find any elsewhere

but in principle the starter has the thick wire from battery positive to the big conection on the solenoid, there a seperate little connector on the solenoid which needs a feed from the start switch.

alternator has a big terminal which connects to the battery either direct or to the battery lead on the starter solenoid. and the little terminal needs connecting to the ignition/battery light

some alternators have another wee connector that is the rev counter signal

he may be genuine but its an easy search on the internet so why ask?

if he was nicking it hed want starter and "other" wiring to get it started ....wouldnt be asking about the alternator.






and dont shed too many crocodile tears about robint s workshop you aint fooling anyone we all know yer couldnt give a toss about anyone elses troubles.

WTF. All I was after was a bit of info to complete my landy (isn't what this site is all about)
