hello, was wondering why the new 110 is only available with a 2.2 engine and the discovery enjoys the 3 litre with better MPG. Also is it wrong to assume the 110's chassis is stronger than the new discovery's ?

Hello, You can get a 7.4 litre V12 110 but Landrover keep it quiet, its an under the counter special order nudge nudge wink wink im a mason type of affair, Both chassis are equally as strong as each other as Land Rover use the new double corrigated cardboard box section ladder quadrant tubular chassis rails

Theyre difference models. Why would they have the same injun? Eg supercharger from the rangie wont be in a freelander.

thanks for helpng me out of my first post, was just worried that 2.2 might be under powered and thought there was a 300tdi at one point with the 110 not that bigger equates with more power necessarily.

There were dezuls with n without turbos and petrol and even a v8. If yer asking is this engine anygood then thats wot ya should say

Dunno aint been out long and i ai t driven it. Got a fleet of the puma engined 2.4 and thats ok. The lads that drive em prerred the td5 but get on ok. Not much choice if you want a defender now unless you buy second hand.

No. It would be 15.4 litres and supercharged if it was a Jag engine. That's why they always get used in blaggings.

Just incase you don't realise, 300tdi doest mean a 3 litre. It is a 2.5lit and so is the 200tdi and the Td5. Sorry if you realised already that but sounds like you thought older landrovers had a 3 litre diesel....
