Diesel starting issue

It'll run, the in-tank pump just gets the fuel flow started at starting. It could be a fuse or the pump partially blocked with in-tank crap.
It could just be pure chance and you've actually got failing leak-off pipes.

True but it also maintains positive fuel pressure to the FIP when the engine is running. When it fails, performance is affected especially when the tank is low

Bacterial growth sounds interesting, how do u go about checking that? No smell from fuse box, or any evidence of corrosion, burning etc, think ill cut the floor to gain access to the pump and then i'll be able to check the connections

If you have bacterial growth, you may see traces of black slime in the fuel filter, often it doesn't get that far, it just blocks the mesh filter on the fuel pump. You can buy bactericide to add to diesel, I used to get it form the yacht chandlers as it's a common problem on marine diesel installations. Not cheap but it's sometimes a quick fix.

Yeah saw Canyons guide, looks pretty straight forward really, at least then I can have the pump out and see if there's an obvious problem,

So today's progress is I've followed canyons guide which is great, many thanks for that, checked connections and all is good, pump defo not working, although I didn't bother to give it a direct feed to test it due to the fact the metal fuel pipes coming from the pump housing are so corroded I'm surprised they were dry, so I'm fitting a new pump anyway cus it's only a matter of time before they start leaking,
Awaiting a replacement from island 4x4. Oddly tho I haven't had any issue starting for 2 days, fingers crossed it holds out until the replacement part arrives

Quick question, on advice from lz I've also ordered the 2 bolts and olives, how much of a pain are the fuel lines to pull off? The lines look quite brittle and I see they are push fit, so will they not leak when reattached?
