Hi
I have a 2011 defender XS and wondered if anyone could point me at the heated seat relay.
Both seats have packed in, so I think I'll start at the relay... but how to identify it?
Thanks
Rob

Indeed, but it's a business vehicle and time's money. If I can track it to a relay in ten minutes on a Sunday afternoon, then I'm half a day in pocket.

There's no relay in the heated seats circuit.

Power is supplied to both heated seat switches through fuse F33 (20A)

The power to the fuse box is controlled by the ignition-switched electric windows relay.

The seat heaters share a common earth point on the RH side of the engine bay.

Mmmm... maybe take it in then, both switch lights come on when you press the switches, but the seats don't heat. I'd convinced myself it'd be because the low current side of the relay was making ok but the relay wasn't pulling in. It's got to be something common to both seats though, but if it was earth I wouldn't expect the switch lights to come on.

If the warning lights on the switches illuminate in the on position, that means that power is getting to the switches, as the warning light LEDs are linked to the output side of the switches.

The warning light's earths ultimately, go back to the same earth stud as the seats.

Have you checked that the seats are plugged in to the connectors on the seatbox?

Yes, tried the obvious plugs under the seats, but as they both failed together, and the lights are still on I was looking for something common.
I ordered a manual off ebay, but will probably take it in next week, if you've got heated seats, now's the time you want them.
Thanks for looking though
Rob
