Could I run my 300tdi on sunflower oil instead of veg oil? As I can get hold of about 500litres from someone I know for next to nothing, just didn't know if you can mix sunflower oil with diesel and it will run alright, thanks

Of course it is that's why it's yellow, real oil is black because it's made from decomposed sticks and leaves and mud.

I used to run a Fortrack on sunflower oil and a Shogun Sport on filtered ex chipshop oil. Only do a maximum of 50%oil to diesel mix and less in the cold other wise you get problems..

As has been pointed out, sunflower oil is just another variety of veg oil. We currently run both our P38s and my 300tdi disco on a diesel/used veg oil mix at about 40/60 in the disco and 30/70 in the P38s, though we'll be thinning down the mix somewhat for the winter, most likely 50/50, but we'll see how they run and how cold it gets.

oh right ok, well i shall start using sunflower oil then, thanks for that mate. yeah i been currently running veg oil at 70/30 but am going to start to bring it down the colder it gets, thanks for the info mate
