which is best for spares

Hiya.
nice simple question for ya.
my motor is a m reg 300tdi 110 defender, if i was to get a second landy for spares , is the one more compatable, disco 1 or 2 , engine running gear wheels ect ect.
or are they totaly diff beasts.

The Disco 1 300tdi and defender 300tdi will share engine, gearbox, front axle (your rear will be a Salisbury), front suspension and that's about it, a few other odds and sods maybe but not much more. Personally I wouldn't keep a whole truck spare as you don't know if the bits are any good anyway, just get bits as you need them...

thanks for the replies, one of my mates buys scrap cars, he said if he gets anymore landys he would give to me as spares , if you can see where im coming from.
