Rocker Cover

Hi

Not sure if anyone can advise me. I have just removed my rocker cover and replaced the gasket. I then continued to re fix and it now appears that the bolts have expanded or the rocker bores have shrunk. Are they prone to shrinking in cold weather. Any ideas? thank for any help.

They can be a bit fiddlely to get back in take it off and push them half in before replacing the cover

yes, I have even tried tapping them with a hammer when the rocker cover is off and they are still not having it. thanks
