Side step riv nuts

Hi, would it be safe enough to just hammer in the riv nuts into the bottom of the car or do you advise me to buy the proper tool to insert them!?

There is a thread on here on the easiest way to fit riv nuts they should fit into the hole without hammering then ya need a bolt and 2 nuts to spread it and lock it into place..

You must fit rivnuts properly or they wont hold, either use a proper tool or the bolt and nuts technique.

Hi i used this method it works as i could not find the correct tool use H T bolts as i sheared at least 2 doing mine !

Yep thats the baby, there are loads of different types on the market but the one you have there is an inexpensive but functional tool that is perfect for the home garage.
