Fitting a snorkel to my 110

Easy way to tell if it was td5 is I believe td5s had steel doors. Stick a magnet to the door. But it isn't a td5, I'll tell you that much.

yes anythink can be done its a defender

You could still make the snorkel fit if you're prepared to fiddle a bit.

Guys,, is it a case of cutting the wing to allow the (wrong) snorkel to mount to the wing and then feed a pipe across the engine to the opposite side?

nope, unless you want to bodge it

you can do this mate its called modifying not botching but you don't sound like you have that much mechanical no how (no offence mate) if i was you ad just go for the safe option an get a 200 tdi one

am wondering if all is not so right with that 110

G plate so should be TD engine - very early 200Tdi on a G plate ?

wrong grill - but has Tdi wings

and i used to drive a green defender for a living...

...never owned one or modified one... thats why i'm here, as well as to get to know the community..

So not going to be beaten by this, prefer the look of the Mantec one i have as well...

so a heads up, with some advice is most welcomed..

sound mate you should have no probs sorting it then o ye an :welcome2:lol just find that pipe that comes off the bottom of the air box re-root an seal it up an you ll be sound good look an take some pics (we like pics)

I think the hardest part will be linking the snorkel aperture on the inside of the wing to a connecting hose...

Maybe i'll need to make a manifold box to connect the snorkel aperture on one side and then the connecting hose on the other....

I guess i need to take a look at the wing first...

I reckon if you can take your 300tdi snorkel back and get a 200tdi one it would save alot of messing around.

That is ofcourse if your airbox is vented to the 200tdi wing vent and not sumwhere else magical.

as bear says mate, sell your 300tdi snorkell on e bay you will prob get more than ya paid, buy a 200tdi snorkel, and check ya engine is breaving thro the lower vent on ya left wing, but if it really is a 300tdi in there then you may be better with the snorkel you have because as we all know 300s breave on right ,200s breave on left , so if yours is a 300 breaving thro left they have rerouted the breaver pipe any way so might be better to route it to the rightwing and cut in the snorkel you have( less pipe work), i would of thought you wood be able to see a big air pipe going from left to right if that was a 300tdi fitted in a 200tdi engine bay, i bet its a 200tdi after all this, defo aint a td5, get pictures of the engine bay up and these guys will help they love picces.
