Hi all,

My Freelander is booked into the garage in the morning to have a small oil leak sorted on the front driveshaft, this afternoon whilst driving home from work two hazard warning lights came on the dash, both amber in colour one was a wee symbol with the letters 'TC' the other an image of the car on a slope with an exclamation mark.
Just wondering if these hazard warnings are related to the drive shaft leaking oil,the lights went off when the car came to a halt with the engine still running!
I need to get myself a Haynes manual for this thing!

Many threads running about this on this and other forums.

If you are lucky it is just a fault with the brake-light switch.
When it happened to my wife's TD4 a few weeks ago I was in the dark like you but a search revealed that the brake-light switch was the usual culprit. On examination I was pleasently surprised to find that it didn't even need a new switch as the fault was caused by the switch not being clicked into position correctly meaning it was able to move whenever the brakes were applied, 30-seconds work and all was ok again.

Thanks Litch,I just read the 3 amigos thread so I'll check the brake switch in the morning,i had the car out a wee while ago and the lights are not on anymore which is good! :)

A wee follow up!

All it was needed was to click it back in as it was not in properly, sorted in 20 seconds!lol

Just like my wife's.
Makes you wonder if they work loose (can't see how) or they have just been incorrectly fitted at some time?
