Supercharged and Turbocharged?

Like most of you I find my Disco lacking in power quite often.

There are a couple of threads on here that kinda got mr thinking. One was the 2.8 conversion, (very expensive), and the full length intercooler thread, (less expensive, but personally I'd be concerned about operating temps and damaging such an expensive piece of kit on pay & play days).

Which I guess leaves another couple of options. One is fitting a TDV6, which is also bloody expensive, or would it be possable to run both a turbocharger and a supercharger?

Used superchargers of the correct size for a 300TDi aren't that expensive, nor would it cost that much to fab up any mounting brackets or plenhams? I'm guessing that you'd have to run a Megasquirt system to fine tune the fueling / timing etc?

If such a system was viable, the positives I can see are a greater spread of power / torque low down. Personally there have been plenty of times when I have had mine axle deep in thick hung, but even in low ratio have had to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere.

Is any of the above a really stupid idea to any if you? Any very rough idea on costings if most of the work was done by myself? Have I missed anything out, (besides the obvious engine rebuild on a 184'000 mile motor before I even began?).

I look forward to hearing your comments on this chaps.

look at vw Fsi engines, but super and turbo charged engine=high hp for low capacity (vw g60 motors with superchargers had poor reliability)
