Hi,

I am not sure how to call the wall I have behind the front seats, but I am sure I want to remove it :)

I have defender 90 1997 and I would like to remove the wall I have behind the front seats so I can have more room when I am driving, and my girlfriend to lean back her seat.

any help, ideas, links, kits, images etc will be appreciated,

Thx
G

It's called a rear bulkhead. Look on the Mudstuff website they sell a reinforcing bar that replaces the bulkhead. You can't just remove the bulkhead as it's structural but you can rreplace it with a reinforcing bar.

thx all for replies

MudStuff's kit is less than I want to achieve, how come the new defender dont has bulkhead? is it whole different body?

I am thinking about going to a local welder to produce one that will fit my desires, are there particular points I need to anchor?

@ wickford90 - we both came back home after a long ride and she told me "make my seat lean back or its my last time in this landy", but you made me laugh

Ah think ye're thinkin' of a station wagon wi' the second row seats. Ye won't get yer seats to recline right back as the wheel boxes are in the way;)
Ye could always change yer seats. My mrs said me seats are the best ones she's sat on and are dead comfy... even after a 12 hour drive:D
