I'm happy to announce that if all goes to plan then LandyZone will be moving to UK servers tomorrow(8th Feb). There will be about an hour or two downtime in the morning and when we come back, we should be faster than ever and no longer in the hands of the Americans! Of couse things may not go exactly to plan, so when we go offline I will be giving updates on our twitter feed at LandyZone on Twitter, so follow us there if you don't already. Current Server: New Server: ;);)
On Friday 04th November 2011 at 7.30pm on the A49 ay Prees/Prees Green a 206 Peugeot carrying a 5 year old, a 3 year old a pregnant woman and her partner were heading out towards Shrewsbury on the South side of Prees coming into the 50 MPH limit when a 4x4 ploughed into the back of the car crushing the children and injuring all four. This vehicle then carried on towards Shrewsbury without stopping. We believe this 4x4 could be silver Landover Discovery 3 or 4 as parts of the vehicle were left at the scene. The vehicle will have front driver side damage; did you see this vehicle driving towards you with one headlight at all last Friday night? Have you seen a silver 4x4 vehicle with damage to the driver’s side? The driver is...
It has been pointed out that there are certain rules that need highlighting to members. The main one being the posting of Private Messages. P.M's are Private Messages and should stay that way. Anyone posting private messages on the forum without permission of the sender will be banned. Also every member should be aware of our Terms Of Service/Acceptable use policy. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/lztos.pdf Any rules that need highlighting may be added to this when necessary.
Links have started to be placed and adverts are in the making. LandyZone.co.uk is finally with us..... Although still in a state of test for the rest of April, we have opened our doors. Please take a look around and if you find any problems let me know by filling in this form here or posting in the TEST area which will be closed and deleted at the end of April. We are looking to recruit moderators and other staff in the coming months - if you feel you are up to the job then please contact us here. The Future We are not sure what the future holds for LandyZone - only time will tell. What I can say now is what we have planned - The LandyZone team will be out and about taking photo's at various events for posting in our...
Thought it was about time i made a post about all the recent goings on with language etc. As i'm sure everyone is aware, especialy regulars, at Landyzone we have taken a different approach to bad language than other LR forums. Up until recently i think it's gone pretty well. Since we've had some new moderators things seem to have changed a little, whether that is just a coincidence or not i'm not sure. Either way there has only ever been one guide line, and that has been to keep harsh language off the main forums. (if anyone wishes to know what they are PM, don't use this as an excuse to use them). Something that you don't mind might easily offend others. My feeling now, is that people are beginning to take the **** a little to see how...
Just thought i'd make a quick point about the Email notifications for P.M's on the site. When anyone receives an email from us there is a big notice on them that says PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. However it seems that people do so anyway. Although i love reading all the miss sent P.M's you should know that by replying to the email, your chosen recipient doesn't recieve the message, therfore they probably think that you are ignorant gits for not replying:D As said this aint a problem for me but it needs pointing out so that your messages go where you want them to. Hope this makes sense peeps:doh:
Ok chaps ive got round to doing the engines forum. Ive tried to set them up how i think is sensible. ie series engines in one forum, cos i can't see them being overly busy. Anyway have a look and feel free to offer advise on any changes. I will probably tell you to **** off but you can try:D
Well here we go again. Once again i shal try to do the right thing, i'm really quite touched by the ammount of support a lot of you have for yella. Even though you all have your own oppinion about whats happened, so do I. I have spoken to yella this morning and i think we both know where we stand. I'm not about to pour it out over the forums however. I realise i probably made a pretty rash decission yesterday but when things are going a bit mad it's hard to see all the facts. What i saw ****ed me off a little and i'm now thinking i should have put the swear filter on right from the start. Shame on me for thinking the forum could go on without it. So saying that the swear filter is now on and hopefully that should help. Anyway as far as...
LandyZone is now offering forum sponsorship for all individual forums. You will notice on the main forum home page that some forums are beginning to be sponsored by land rover related companies. Any companies that sponsor forums will be allowed to advertise their products on the site. Some of these sponsors may be offering discounts for LandyZone members, so be sure to ask if you contact them. We are also offering commercial accounts if you have a Land Rover related business and would like to post in the forums about it. Commercial Account users and Forum Sponsors names will appear in orange in posts and on the userlist. For further details, send me a message or email, and I will give you the details.
Yes, finally, we are upgrading the forum software that LandyZone is running on. On Monday July 20th LandyZone will be taken down in the morning and converted to XenForo, a modern forum software package that is a huge upgrade over our current outdated vBulletin installation. LandyZone will be down all day and maybe into the evening. I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long though. The new software is fully responsive, which called for a total redesign of the site. This means it works as well on mobile phones and tablets as it does on your computer. No more tapatalk required! A few of us have been working on the new system for a while now, and whilst we hope to have got most of the bugs out of the way, I'm sure with such...
