seems alot of hassel matey to me. Atleast the tirfor would be easy to use, no cuting, no removing fuel tanks. But as said its your disco. Good luck with pal and keep us up to date with it.

easy to use:eek:

as long as youve got all day to do recovery yeh there fine

leccy one for me everytime, but thats a different debate altogether and will open a can of worms.

I've seen the towbar winches at Taubenreuther. I was looking at them when I had an X-trail, but decided they were a little too small for the job. the largest fitting is for an RT40 winch this has a max 1814 kg pulling capacity which is only about half the power of the standard front mounted winch for a Disco.

I have seen one mounted into the rear cargo bay though...

Hope this helps

Yeah I think I'm going to go electric.

I've just ordered a universal winch tray and I'm going to cut out the width of this universal tray out the centre of the bumper. So the bumper will be in 2bits and then weld this tray in the middle, a inch and half lower than The bumper either side so my door doesn't hit the winch.

And at the same time reinforce the rear bumper with some box steel I have left over from a old project.

After all this is done I'm then going to get a set of 3"lift springs in stead of the 2" to help cope with the extra weight.
