Thank you Graculus & Lynall, your input is appreciated, I am going to try and liaise with Discomikey and see what info he has on the subject, as to some of the rest of the inputs, "just buy a tdv8 and get on with it", I am buying one, a tdv8 4,4 soon, but in meantime, I have to do something with the Disco 3 Tdv7 2,7 parked in my driveway after two crank failures, so read my initial post and question and either assist in helping me and hundreds of other owners with similar crank failure issues on a otherwise brilliant vehicle , or air your views and opinions where appropriate. I did not ask your opinion on fitting an alternate engine, but rather if anyone on this forum has successfully done it or not, at the moment, with available information, it appears as if Discomickey is the person I need to contact.

I think DM had a whole thread on the build on the d3forum, galv chassis, powder coated this and that, looked excellent.
I think he may have kept the active anti roll set up?

Out of interest, was your engine rebuilt after the first failure? Some would say that the block is often damaged and only for scrap. I'm wondering who had to pay for the second failure..
