    RRC 1988 rolling resto

Bonnet repair now. I will learn to weld to do footwells and other hidden areas but I'm leaving the bonnet to a pro. The main reason to worry was the extra cooling vents: So I stripped off the insulation lining, light bulb and what remained of the wiper washers, drove to the panel beater...

    RRC 1988 rolling resto

Headlining is done, just waiting on some replacement parts to make their way here through the COVID delays.. sunvisors & dome lights. Next I tried to check the central locking. Got all doors to lock/unlock but drivers door refuses to open. Some fun this morning to get at that. Next up is a...

    Classic Speedo & temp gauge

Thanks for that, will need to do some homework. There are still a few RRC around Malta though many were cannabalised for the V8 engines or hacked into off roaders. Sadly I doubt anyone will be travelling in May this year but whenever you're over next do get in touch we'll go for a drive & a pint :)

    Classic Speedo & temp gauge

I fully agree but can't afford to run a V8 as a daily... I tried and failed. I could get a Disco (which I also did) but vastly prefer the RRC.

    Classic Speedo & temp gauge

I'd like to get a reliable reading so that if it starts overheating I'd be aware. Sorry to sound daft - then which sensor do I need? Thanks

    Classic Speedo & temp gauge

Hi, My RRC is a 1988 model converted from EFI auto to 300 Tdi auto. The temp gauge never seems to go much above 1/4 even after an hour + driving. What would a normal reading be? The speedo reads about 15km/h higher than actual speed. The odometer does not work. Not sure where to start as...

    RRC 1988 rolling resto

Riight that's the headlining complete! 15 hours (much longer than I thought I'd need ) & €100. I've got sunvisors & new dome lights en route from the UK but until they get here I put the old ones back. From this manky rug through hard slog Seeing light And done!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today I spent 6 hours on top of 3 yesterday to clean off the old fabric from the headlining. Still not done. Awful job :(

    RRC 1988 rolling resto

So today I just wanted to clean out the interior, bit of a vacuum and wipe down. The headlining was moulting over everyhting so I took it out to be re-done. Then wiped down the inside and a good vacuum. 5 hours later I had got 3/4 done and stopped as the vacuum burnt out. Ooops. Roof is...

    RRC 1988 rolling resto

Hi This thread will follow the progress of the rolling restoration of my RRC. See how I ended up here on my intro post. Learning from a nut and bolt resto I did on my Triumph Spitfire, I will not be going down that route again. I found that I had dismantled parts that could simply not be found...

Icing Problem and Roof lining sagging

Sorry to butt in on an old thread. Any idea which of the above colours would be correct for a 1988 RRC with beige interior "bracken" trim? Champagne and suede beige both seem a fair choice Thank you!

    Classic 1988 bracken trim

Hi, Could anyone please confirm whether the below is "bracken" trim used only for 2 years from late 1986? The centre part in mine (2nd pic) seems darker than the brochure (1st pic, taken from the awesome range-rover-classic.com) though of course age and screen settings all play their part. I...

Hi from Loughborough..New Member with a Lightweight

Well done, that is a find indeed - amazing condition! One of my mates got a lightweight when we were eighteen (late nineties) and we got into trouble more than once in it... very grateful we had no cameras on phones or facebook evidence back then!

    Hi from Malta

Good day all, Hello from Malta! Let's go back a few years... I happily ran a company car Freelander 2 for just over 3 years until 2012. I then tried my luck with a few other land rovers on a lower budget. I bought a 110 300 tdi but found it too long for city parking so it made way for a...
