Thanks for your reply. I am still unsure of the reason for the difference. I prefer the look of the open snorkel with the vent cover, but it does look as if it would act as a straw, sucking in water on a rainy day.

Hi I want to put a snorkel on my TD5 Defender, but cant find out why there are different fitments at the top. Is this only cosmetic, or is there a reason why some are open and others like mushroom. Thanks.
