I bought mine from there and I haven't had any problems with the car. The arches and sill were covered up with tar though to get it through the MOT so I think they must know some dodgey garage.. engine sweet though

Put some WD40 on all the electric parts and then you're fine to power wash everything you see

Buy the Haynes manual and it tells you what the MOT check list is, but you need to check the obvious ones like rot, tyre tread etc..
