Free Wheeling hubs for a freelander

Hi Mussyim... I'm running 2wd at mo... saves a bit on petrol. But like you want to return to 4WD. My VCU went (Not quite) it was when the car got serviced that my garage told me that the oil in the transfer box was silver. Seems the VCU was tight but not seized. Freelander 2.0 DI Air Filter

Worth noting that one. I quite like the L series seems a well put together engine unlike the 1800. Been really pleased with the fuel especially after my volve 940 which seemed to drink the stuff for no distance. I was doing 430 miles for £67 now getting 480 miles for £50 2 years later!

    Freelander 2.0 DI Air Filter

hi Guys. I've been getting the thing serviced at 12k miles, but noticed after 9 or so K the performance dropps off and fuel usage goes up. So I hopped along to local LR Chappie and got a new Air filter. Stuffed it in and .. guess what 40+ MPG 500 miles out of a tank. Ok it was on the M25 which...

    Now I'm stumped!!

Hi My rear is rumbling a lot on tight bends ... several comments point to the tyres and it being a design fault (1999 L Series diesel). Has anybody got another suggestion, cause it must be something worn... has anybody replaced rear diff mounts? J

hi Guys Got the same prob... suddenly burst on the nearside pipe.. so got the hacksaw out, removed the offending bit of pipe and extended the rubber hose. Been like it for a bit, but will have to get round to replacing it. See none of you have had the nerve to do the think... but then...

There is a strong association between windows vista and freebies

Actually its all about security... hippos like wallowing in water, thus die on dry summers, vista doesn't like anybody touching it so there it is

There is a strong association between windows vista and freebies

He He... windows vista needs lr freebe team to sort it out, 1.8 design team was recruited by billy gates, ... unlike my freebe hippo thing the pc is bang up to date. Perhaps its trying to get too much out of a tiny tiny processor as 1.8 is... just a thought.

There is a strong association between windows vista and freebies

Just thought I'd start a thread... good view, lovely looks, but perhaps ?? (actually mine has just blue screened and lost 1/2 hours work) so maybe the freelander isn't so bad?

    help,wheel binding or ??

Hi All Yup interesting car this freebe.. should have done more research... the old thing has a limited slip diff (at the back), so when I do a hard full lock the outside wheel tries to drive the other one so it rubs the road... lovely off road. Used to it now. Believe later versions use traction...

    help,wheel binding or ??

Hi, Just got freebe (Diesel) 1999, and sadly didn't notice this on test. So Appears that front breaks bind when on tight lock (If you can call full lock on a Freebe tight that is). Nice car! Fyi It does have disks on the front and their new on this one. You can see them through the front wheel...
