    Hi all.Please could you give me an idea and any pointers on cylinder head removal on the L series. Head needs to come off and planning the work in a few days. Take it the timing belt has to come off etc. Thankyou.

    Hi all. Anybody tell me if its a major pain to take the head off the L series 2.0 diesel engine? Starting the job soon if anyone could give me an idea please. Take it its timing belt etc etc.. Thanks..

    Im hoping its the glow plugs anyhoo. Gonna change the 3 i can sort of get to then see what happens. Providing i can sort the broken one. It looks a descent motor apart from the starting problem.

    It's the L series.. Stupid what it involves takin glow plugs out... Thinking of tryin a tap set b4 takin head off. Think they must be the original plugs.. :mad:

    Hi, Started takin glow plugs out of V plate freelander 2.0 di but one has broken leaving the outer casing in the head. Any ideas. Can i tap a left hand thread into it and undo with a bolt? Anyone had this problem b4? Thanks.. :eek:

    Hi all. As well as doing my discovery, clutch and some welding.. I have bought what i was hoping to be a bit of a bargain.. (guess not). Here goes.. I paid £550 for a V plate freelander 2.0 di. Some electrical faults windows lights etc which i have sorted. However i bought it as a non runner...

    Right off to start the clutch now its not raining! would it be ok to put the landrover front end up on ramps, would this give me enough clearance?

    thanks for the replies all. Thinking of starting the job tomorrow...sorry not introduced myself yet, busy thinking of clutch worries. Lost clutch on way from work still have good clutch pedal and doesn't slip when crashing box, so was thinking release bearing and some confidence to do it...

    Only have limited tools.....no engine crane, just man power lol :) Not worried about weight of the gearbox, its just stripping everything around it, looks complicated :confused: Thanks for the reply.

    hi all! :) new to the forum.... own 1998 discovery, needs clutch/bearing. Is this a ok diy job? looks complicated in manual, did cylinder head gasket 2000 mile ago, i did this myself, so quite diy competent. hope you can advise and hold the snow for awhile....! :( Mitch
