Afternoon Quick and simple question hopefully! 4 bolt Adwest power steering boxes.. Are they all the same from early models all the way up to TDCi Defenders? I know Discovery 1 uses the same box also, what about Discovery 2? Looking to buy a second hand unit off eBay to replace my 6 bolt box...

I wouldn't bother mate. By all means, learn to weld, but put it to practice on something that's not going to cause an accident when you hit that little bloody pothole doing 70mph on the M6.. Coming from an experienced welder/mechanic/MOT tester. Ste.

Just had a good look on the computer mate, can't find any RfR that might cause you any problems. Tester might put a manual advisory on it maybe but that's all. Cheers, Ste.

Leave it with me mate, I'll have a look through the computer today and see if I can find any RfR's, as I say I can't think of any off the top of my head. As far as I can remember there's two fails for sharp edges, due to corrosion and due to damage (yours is neither), and relates to the outer...

Nope, doesn't matter mate, as long as you still have all the necessaries (switches, warning lights etc) then you're fine (I can't think of any reason why I would fail it anyway). Ste.

Don't worry about it. 99% of the cars I test have a slight imbalance. There's tons of factors that can change the reading, level of wear on brakes/tyres, weather, even down to the angle that you're in the rollers (if you aren't perfectly straight). 30% imbalance is the limit, so you're miles away.

Only ever used them through eBay, always as it should be and arrives fast.

Hi Sam, Doors are all pretty scrap to be honest mate :( They're all either going by hinges or on bottoms or frames are knackered, can't imagine you'd be right pleased with em mate. Sorry pal, Ste.

Hey Sam. I'm up at the unit on Saturday afternoon so can get you paint code then if you like? I couldn't tell you the name of it.. It has a 300 drivers door fitted, and I think I have a 300 passenger front door in same colour. Not too sure on difference, think it's just bump strips? And mirror...
