I am in the final stages of my first engine swap. It's taken me some time.... I've got the new engine in and I'm trying to work out which pipes go where.... unfortunately I started this project so long ago, I can't remember wgich pipe goes to which hole... Does anyone have a diagram, or could...

Huge job?

I'm guessing that's not good

All looks ok so far but the light started to go before i could get it all properly clean. Will delve deeper over the weekend. A couple of small washers also appeared on the work bench as I started cleaning it all up.

Ok so head is off and I've started the clean up operation! Head gasket didn't have any obvious signs of damage, but it did get torn as the head came away from the block. I don't really know what I'm looking for, but in my mind there are no real obvious faults? Some of the ports have raised bits...

It's off now... Placed carefully on the bench in the shed until Friday... Gonna sit down and enjoy a brew.. Appreciate all your help so far guys, got a feeling this is just the start of it tho...

Ok after another 30 mins of trying, that top nut screw whatever it is wont loosen, tried mole grips tapping on a spanner that's a fraction smaller, it seems like it's made of lead, as soon as any real pressure is put on it it just distorts. Do I hacksaw the top of the nut off or do I cut the...

Hahaha.... cheers. I'm in Tewkesbury. Have taken apart elbow as advised but since I couldn't get the oil pipes off I decided to try other things.... you live and learn :(

Ok will get grips on it... There's another much larger diameter pipe comin from the underside of the same unit that I can't budge either.... The damage so far...

Agreed, but the vertical pipe just above the turbo in the picture won't come off, and it's atatched lower in the engine.... The sheared bolts r from the bottom of the turbo housing not the head

Guys I'm having a nightmare... Snapped off three bolts now and still going. Trying to remove the turbo although I don't appear to have to remove it completely it's got to be that or the pipe coming out from the top of the turbo vertically. Everything rusted solid and I've just finished throwing...

Can't finish taking it apart til after work tonight.. The pipe from the filler cap did indeed connect to the air intake, and yes you are quite right the air filer was removed cos it was clogged solid. I disconnected the pipes just to show the amount of black smoke being chucked out

Anyway 90, ninety, nine tee..... still smoking like a fooka lol. The video I uploaded of it smoking should work now too
