    2.5 N/A troubles

Yikes! That is major. Good job you got it running again. I'm a believer in the 2.5NA, but due to the history of a hydrauliced engine, you should be swapping this out for a rebuilt one, and cutting your losses. It wouldn't be that expensive to put in a tdi, particularly from a wrecked Disco or...

Land rover 2.5 na engine wiring loom

I would avoid the breakers. The wiring harness on the 2.5 is a common failure, due to the assembly sitting next to the hot engine. Most of them eventually fail. If you want to do a good job, Autosparks sells the harness for a reasonable price. If you think its too much money, check the price of...

    Hotspot roll pin

Over here that is more of machine shop work. Ensure you are using four new hotspots. The lowest price I could find for OEM was shop4autoparts.

    Britpart oil seals

Yup, Britpart seals ARE that bad. Britpart supplies several branded seals, and will either denote the part with a "G" suffix, or list that it is of "OEM" origin. The Dowty seals are good quality, and will show a makers mark, as will the Cortelco, or other branded seal. Britpart standard seals...

    NA sump sealing

I've been deeply into this problem myself, and have I think all of the solutions.. After a lift and replace of the same engine, I started getting bad oil leaks at the rear of the pan. With a dry rag in the hole for the wading plug at flywheel housing bottom, it would stay dry after running, and...

    Cylinder head

ech. no. The heads are completely different. There should be a ton of old used 2.5 diesel heads lying about in wrecking yards across the country. I don't think Britpart could make an Anvil that wouldn't break, but as I expect you don't plan to keep the 2.5 forever, it's probably worth the...

    new engine

I've been looking into this myself. 200tdi LHD kit is rare. RHD is " Easy", as it can be robbed from a 200tdi Disco RHD without much effort. 300tdi and MWM International 2.8 HS both require some finessing, moving welds on the chassis, maybe cutting bulkhead too. for V8, I think a few Rover V8...

2.5na uneven running on a half tank

thought so.. I had nearly the same fault with a Chevrolet petrol car, the fuel pump would sound noisy, and the car would stall out at random with under a half tank. Changing the pump sorted it out.

    major problem

Had the same problems myself.. A few questions, likely some steam/mist and unburnt diesel..? Sounds like you may have head damage, or head gasket, although a really failed injection pump might show some of these signs if there's no water in the exhaust. Check your coolant colour and level...

broken phosphor bronze bits in oil pan

I'm undergoing a rebuild of my ex-army BATUS late 12J NA Mk 2/3 engine. The engine had been 'reconditioned' by the army years before surplus, and was found to have a failed piston, worn rocker, worn oil pump, and bad cylinder head during this rebuild. I'm the second owner post-army, the last...
