    Taken your advise re sealant - using steel seal and will see how it goes - I fixed some of the major bits that effect how it runs and drives but can live with the rest - if it all goes wrong hay ho I can put a replacement engine in eventually

    I haven't yet - I have put it in my workshop for a while whilst I try and get some other stuff dome on other vehicles . I'm not convinced it's the head gasket but sniff test would show otherwise

    A little update , I have started going through the mechanicals on the 90 , So its had a full service , new UJ's for the prop at the front and gone through the front axel renewing anything worn . Attempted to stop the small oil leak , changing the rocker cover gasket and the oil pressure...

    They are fine with it - still in booster seats so they dont notice - Ive had friends sit in the back and no complaints there either - You could even take out the front section of the tub out and it would make no difference to movement of the wheels and tyres - a replacement could be riveted in...

    Thanks Mook - Its been a real good and enjoyable change to the old VW's I do every day . Really enjoying driving it as well , we live in the country and its getting nice and dirty , I dont have to avoid the potholes or the water any more which is good .

    I agree its a fair amount - However the paint and prep alone would cost 3000 + I could put a 200 TDi in for the right offer ;)

    Thanks Puffin - Priced to move , I have over 150 hours in it, so that doesnt even cover my labour , let alone the truck and the paint .
