    Disco 2 How slow?

Mine is bog standard (1999, auto, 250000km on the clock), but at traffic lights I manage to get away first in 85 to 90% of the time ( not uphill). Rear mirror view: Mercs and Beemers getting agitated for losing against an old brick :D After 35m the fun is over though...:( Until winter time...

    Disco 2 Fault diagnosis 99 TD5 Auto

Is the rattling occuring around 2000RPM? Then it's probably the handbrake shoes that need some adjusting (at least on mine it was, Disco2 auto 1999). Copy the link and you get the download with the technical bulletin about the issue. lrparts.ru/download.php?id=17

Disco 2 Disco2a, Front Bumper Middle

Hi WinniW, Living (more or less) close to you in Belgium, I know your problem. I searched months and months for a used (pré facelift) bumper. New ones are made of gold and second hand ones in good condition are as rare as hell and almost as expensive as a new one. Instead of investing your...

Please Help - No Crank No Start

I think it happened to me once. My little boy was playing with the electric frontseats (car was turned off). After a while I wanted to start and it wouldn't, signs of low voltage. What do you do in such case (or any case concerning a Disco fault)? Wait a little, pray and try again. Car started...

    Front bumper trimming

Not yet. Due to lack of time, it's not finished completely. Left the bullbar in place, now all I need to do is some re-shaping around it (not completely satisfied with the result yet). At the so called 'metal part of the under-bumper' (;)) I cut it a bit in an angle so the plastic keeps...

    Front bumper trimming

Did it. First used a bit of the bumper I didn't need anymore to practice. Like Nigel-S says: keep moving because it melts quickly. All in all not a difficult job and a new nice face to look at :)

Fuel cooler seal - easy or not?!

The ones around the body. Tried to re-use the old clips, but lost my patience getting them back on. With jubilee clips it was a less than a minute job. The one on the coolant pipe isn't difficult, use some pliers to squeeze it a little and the end cap goes off or on. For info: could be...

Fuel cooler seal - easy or not?!

Very easy if you follow this link. Did mine (front and back seal) almost a year ago and still leak free. Don't fiddle with the old clips, jubilee clips is the way to go ;)

NSF ABS sensor output too low

Not looking for the cheapest one, want a good one but cheaper than stealer's one. Was there for restamping VIN, and asked for hub out of curiosity. Always nice to know what you save with a little DIY. They once quoted me 800+€ for fixing a leaking fuel cooler  Did it at the cost of 4...

    Recommendation for D2 owners

Got myself a nanocom a few weeks ago and this was the first thing I did. (after immobiliser problems due to interference, scared the sh*t out of the old lady next door every time the alarm went off, trying to get in and start the car :D)

NSF ABS sensor output too low

I better start looking for new hub then. Have the same problem, except nanocom code for me is 16-06. Rear left sensor (driver's side as she is lefthand drive) output too low. After clearing the code, my friends disappear until starting to drive. As Difflock says, after 10-15m the 'krrrr' TC...

    Remote won't open car

Happened to mine a few weeks ago. Parked up a lot near a big crane, want to leave and same story as Mickeydog. After a while, suddenly she starts. Drove to garage, no fault codes, fob and battery tested and ok, signal tested and ok, BCU ok. They knew of 3 other people who have/had the same...

Member of our Belgian Freelander Forum had the same thing couple of months ago. His wife parked the car at work and after 1,5h it started burning. Was also electrical problem but damage was too severe to tell the exact cause.

    Driving in Yoo-roap

For visiting X-mass markets: Also keep in mind that in some countries winter tyres are mandatory for a certain period (ex. October 1 til April 30). This can vary from country to country. In other countries your car needs to be adapted to wintery conditions (enough anti-freeze, de-icer for...
