does that mean climbing under the car and checking the cable? and if no joy there, taking the gear selector handle off the rod, undoing the h and looking below? Thanks

Hi, The gear selector on my 2000 4.6 Vogue is really loose. Lengthwise it's a little sloppy but the stick can be moved 1 - 2 centimeters from side to side very easily and in any gear. It's not really a problem (it doesn't rattle) and I'm used to it by now, but I'd still like to fix it...
