1998 Freelander XEDI 1997cc ?Fuel Issues?

Check the in-line hand primer pump, the internal diaphragm collapses for a past time and causes fuel starvation. Bypass its and see if it cures it.

Can I just get some opinions??

I have a gaylander 2.0 l series. Its nice, goes like a rocket, good in the summer. But I'm tired of the constant 4wd, and I'm getting more serious about greenlaneing etc. problem is, it's my 35 mile daily and at the mo I get average 35-38 mpg. Iv always liked disco's and fancy a tidy 300tdi...

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

Oooooh, that could be an idea then, I have a spare almost complete T series in the garage, might look for a blown freelander in the spring and give that a go for a laugh.

    L series tuning guide

Any input would be good guys, especially if you have tried any of the above etc. :)

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

Yeah totaly agree. Its a shame the rover T series engine does not fit (to my knowledge), that would be fun! ;)

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

Exactly that, its the lightness for its power they like. The jap engine is good and revs better but at a cost of more weight. The caterham has a long tradition of using the K series. In kit car form it makes total sense, in a freelander it was a simple case of not having the budget to invent a...

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

In a caterham or an elise, (both companys upgraded the engine to get rid of all the weaknesses) its a good bit of kit, very fast! But graanted in a freelander it makes no sense, long live the L series! lol

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

I understand why, everyone is right, they are a nightmare. But in rebuilt form they have a very good power/weight.

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

I'm not trying to sell it as the underdog best Engine for the job lol

    K series Performance/Reliability mods

Don't get me wrong, its a poorly thought out design for reliability, and I hate working on them. I just wanted to let anyone know that has a freelander k series, there is hope if you can only afford to stick with it.

New MOT rules in January 2012 – much more than I thought.

Working in the industry, I'm confident that we will not fall into the 'no mods allowed' camp when it comes to MOT tests etc. The after market scene is far too strong to allow it, there is already a MASSIVE online petition snowballing on the government site to get the 2 year mot proposal...

    DIY Diesel Injector cleaning?

Bg2444 is good stuff, been using it for years, Millers is my cleaner of choice though, works a treat and peps up the cetane number of the diesel nicely. Company I use charges £25 inc vat per injector to do a full flow test, clean and re-shim the injectors so they are perfectly balanced again...

    DIY Diesel Injector cleaning?

I have no doubt it works, but my point is that it will damage the injector, its true that diesel injectors are more robust, but I still would advise against it. I work with injectors and recon companys on a daily basis and they all echo my concerns. Ultrasonic baths are a far better solution...
