    hi all ..........

Hi Andy I've got a 1992 3.9, i think that the main, recurring, things are the seat ECU, heater fan only working on high speed (knackered ballast resistor) and central locking actuators, oh yes make sure the gearbox engages cleanly with no clonks going into reverse from drive when warm. HTH...

    P38 Brakes odd feel

Hi I know it's a different beast but my '92 Vogue SE does the same with the ABS light, according the the hand book the light extinguishes at 7km/h. As for the psst noise, mine does the same and the pedal on mine is also very high and hard, having said that it stops very well, the ABS cuts...

    Running rich

Hi all Slight problem with my '92 RRC Vogue SE running on petrol only (it doesn't have an LPG conversion). After a few miles of 'pootling' about she runs rich and has a very lumpy tickover. If i give her a bit of welly she kicks out a bit of grey smoke (unburnt hydrocarbons is my guess) for a...

    classic rangie electrical gremlins !!!

Hi Paul My '92 Vogue SE is the same, although the seat controls now operate the mirrors for some reason. If it helps i managed to movr my seats by touching wires from a battery on the contacts (i'll probably be b*******d for that). It's either the fuse (at the base of the passenger seat i...

    overfinch anyone?

Well, as i live practicall next door to a decent takeaway, and she can't cook for s**t anyway, that wouldn't be a loss. I'd need to get rid of her anyway, otherwise i couldn't afford the fuel bills. Chris J

    Why wont it rev!!!

Hi I don't know if this has any relevence, but i once had an SDI 2600 that wouldn't go over 5,000 rpm even in neutral, it turned out that the last owner had timed the car 180 degrees out, so it still ran, quite well in fact, but not to its full earth shattering potential. Whether this is...

    Classic cruise control

Hi all The C/C on my '92 Clasic hasn't worked since i bought it, had some time today and so i had a nose and fiddle and foud that there are a couple of pipes missing. Now i have a Haynes manual, but it's about as clear as mud and no real help. The pipes are the one that comes out the back of...

    Steering Wobble

It could be that they need balancing on the actual vehicle, a mate of mine had the same problem on his XR4x4. Does the problem only happen around 50? I.e. does it smooth out above and below, if so that is more than likely balancing, but it still might be to check other things like bushes...

    Steering Wobble

Sounds like either a wheel out of balance, buckled wheel, or even a carbuncle (bulge) on one of the tyres. Chris J

    parking sensors irritant

This may seem a silly question, but have you checked the sensors themselves? My father in law had the same problem with one of his lorries, it turned out that some w****r had put a layer of sellotape over the sensors confusing them. Chris J

    K&N filters

Thanks for that, quite a bit of dust round the back lanes of Norfolk too, so i'll probably forget that idea. The main reason for buying one was to try and get a bit better fuel consumption (every little helps). Chris J
