    Interchangable MAFs?

Having sorted out the issue with my 14CU, are 3AM and 5AM MAFs interchangeable? I hope so as I've just been offered a new 5AM for not much money by a mate who didn't need it. The only identifying no's I have on my MAF are the Lucas 73242A and AFH55-1 which I guess is the Hitachi number.

14CU conversion -now it won't start

Am just sorting out the snags having finished my flapper to 14CU conversion. Everything fired up fine with a good cold start and cold idle, but no hot start and no hot idle. It's a 14CU not CUX, so running open loop. It was running rich so reduced the MAF to read 1.12V and was just about to set...

    Rocker cover bolts

Simple question really. What size are the heads. Look like a female torx fitting as I can't get my 12pt 3/8 or 10mm socket on them properly, or do I just need a very thin walled socket. Thanks Anthony

    Stuttering and backfiring

OK so after I bought a new set of leads to help with the erratic idle and was waiting for them to come, it's developed another problem. Anything more than very gentle application of the throttle and it stutters then starts to backfire if you push down any harder. Fitted the new Magnecor leads...

Flapper to hotwire wiring to car loom

Hi I'm in the middle of the conversion in my SD1 (flapper) so I can squirt it. I need to check 1 thing before I carry on and it's not answered on any of the other threads. 5 pin TTS connector from car loom has W (switched ignition) N (unswitched) WP (from fuel pump) WR (from steering module...

    Erratic idle

Hi This is my second problem. Idle is fine when cold and fine when hot on both petrol and gas. Problem is a very erratic idle during the warm up phase, bad enough to make it stall. If you hold the throttle down a bit and rock steady it make no difference. If you raise the revs above 1000 it...

    Odd Hevac problem

Hi I've had my P38 for a while but I'm new here, having been finally defeated by a couple of problems. I'll post the second problem on another thread. The book symbol comes up after about 5mins on every journey. I've tried to get the codes read but Mr Land Rover couldn't get a communication...
