    Freelander mk1 td4 front fogs.

    I thought my Serengeti had fog lamps, but they turned out to be driving lamps. Driving lamps have "HR" next to the E-in-a-circle, fog lamps have "F".

    About to buy a 2004 Freelander

    Why did it need new head gasket? They need a reason to fail.They aren't consumables like pads, discs and cam belts.

    Freelander 2, Tail Light Problems

    "The tail light shares a joint bulb with the stop light". Is that a single filament bulb, or the old twin-filament? I don't know the FL2 rear lamp. If it's single filament, the varying voltage may be your friend's meter struggling to correctly measure the chopped voltage in tail mode.

    New MOT rules in January 2012 – much more than I thought.

    "My disco had headlight washer jets but I removed them to fit a winch bumper. Will it fail because of this?" If you've got Xenon headlamps, washers are mandatory, and it will fail. If you've got Halogen headlamps, washers are optional, and it will pass.
