what a job! is this a record?

It´s one of the easiest jobs, not even had to raise the car or remove parts for access. Just spray the bolts with oil the day before or so (i did not but i live in a dry country). Having the right tools and a bit of planning usually go a long way.

    central locking

I´ve exactly the same symptoms, one day all is well, next morning no front doors open with the remote. If i pull the trigger on the passenger door, yours driver, will open the rear ones, the drivers, yours passenger, will not. Opening with the key will unlock all doors but passengers and boot...

It has been done, just drop it in place and go to rallyraid.co.uk to get the electronics modules to sort out the engine management and gearbox (if it´s an auto)

    Panel Lights

Remove the cluster, change bulbs. Be careful with the yellow plug for the airbag, you should wait 10 min after disconnecting the battery according to rave.

    K&n

Like everything else you should do it according to manufacture instructions!!

    K&n

I´ve been using them for many years with zero problems. They give a more lively feeling to the engine and just make sure you follow the instructions on the box (don´t soak the thing in oil and let drain/absorb any excess)

    2.5 dse injector leaking

I´m not telling you if it can or not, just sharing my experience, you can use it or not you decide.. Engine oil will let you screw in most of the injector by hand, avoiding cross treading. Sure i used what was on hand.

    2.5 dse injector leaking

It was wet around the injector, well after changing the spill pipes, an mot fail here in Portugal. removed the injector, cleaned the treads on the head and injector, some engine oil to lubricate the injector tread, refitted and leak gone.

"Ambient temperature damping When the ambient temperature increases, the ATC ECU imposes a rate of change limit of 0.5 °C (1 °F) /minute. When the ambient temperature is decreasing, the ATC ECU accepts an unlimited rate of change. Ambient temperature input strategy (from VIN 381431) The...

    Thermometer Issue

It´s the HEVAC not the BECM, my mistake. but: "Ambient Sensor This sensor measures the temperature of the external air flow into the vehicle. The ambient temperature sensor is located behind the LH side of the vehicle in front of the condenser. The revised location improves the response time...

    Thermometer Issue

If you read the ETM it´s explained there that only after reaching a certain speed for a certain amount of time the becm will assume that the temperature reading is the correct one, so first thing in the morning will be a default value..

2.5dt Serpentine belt and associated issues.

I allways keep the old parts just in case they might need to go back in for another few km´s... That´s another plus point in removing the viscous fan, not having to unbolt the water pipes for every job on the engine, but a bit too hot here in Portugal in the summer...

2.5dt Serpentine belt and associated issues.

Got to change that! 60k miles on a belt and then when you are stranded by the side of the road it´s the P38´s that are unreliable... I´ve fitted contact (tyre brand) ones and they cost about 15€ top.

2.5dt Serpentine belt and associated issues.

You can replace both belts with all in place. 1- remove the aircon belt 2- place the main belt around the fan and move it into position (the tricky part) 3- lift the tensioner 4- place the main belt on it´s pulleys according to RAVE 5- release tensioner 6- fit new aircon belt
