    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

And I was Gobsmacked where the 101 would go in sand even at road pressures! We drove down this slope and back up!! It did take 4th low with the foot to the boards and the 6 pot singing to get back up!! :p

Is a tax exempt 101, with PAS possible?

IMO Id fit PAS now, get it done and weathered so it looks original!!! Im doing mine in the next month so will start a thread on how I do it. Was going to use a 4 bolt Defender box and cut the front rh leg to suit, retaining the idler... but have since looked at another converted 101 that uses a...

    Modern day equivalent ?

Here's the modern day equivalent, and it is found here in Australia!! Its called an OKA.. The last ones had a Cummins 6 pot turbo diesel, Allison auto and American axles... Brilliant but expensive, and I believe no longer in production!!!

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Its piping that air from the side of the windscreen to the inlet that's the issue.. Not too many routes to run it with a 101.... :)

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Getting there... The plans are a full hard top, roof rack, and a re spray..... Thinking white (some will dislike), with all the features like bumper, tanks, wheel steps, wheel carrier, roof rack, twin snorkels etc done in black.... One snorkel will be for the engine, the other for forced air...

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Well, I think its safe to say that the diesel conversion is well tested and proven!! I've covered 10000 kms now since fitting it, and a fair part of that would be in some fairly remote parts of South Australia. Last month we drove over from Adelaide to Melbourne to catch up with a few other Land...

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Hi all! Not been here for a while, and not a huge amount has changed with the 101. What I have done is finish and fit the new bumper! With 4 x 100w 24volt headlights, I can actually see at night... Stopping to avoid what I can see is another matter!!! Here's a pic of the bumper!

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Its coming. Its all done, just gotta get it from his computer onto either my Ipad or YouTube so I can share it. Here's a shot of us deep in sand last weekend south of Adelaide at 42 mile crossing in the Coorong, trying to get to higher ground so we can go back and rescue the bogged Rodeo that...

Ah go on go on go on!! You know you would love it!!!! Did a 120km round trip down to Adelaide in mine today, and was laughing like a teen every time I launched it off the lights and startled the fancy fourbys that thought they'd leave me for dust!!!

Awesome pics 91 Defender!! Glad to see others being used!!! Yeah, I pushed for a 101 section as the forum over here has a page, and we're very active.. You guys have a lot more 101's so I figured a 101 section wud be a hit! :) Get a thread going about the diesel mods! Cheers!

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Here's the underside/internal bit of the recessed clevis. There'll be a hole cut in the center of the bumper to form the jaw. I have some Ebay 'Halo/Angel Eye' lights coming for the outer two lights. $100.. If they're crap, they can go on the inside, and I'll buy some std 7" headlights and some...

    Sitec's Cummins powered 101!

Here's the center plate, that sits directly below the front grille. This is fairly thick at 10mm, but forms the top of the sunken center clevis, and also the baseplate for the two winching/recovery points. This plate will be directly linked to the chassis rails via the side plates.

So, now the nights are setting in here, and the 101 has become the daily driver, I've found I need better lights, and sooner rather than later!! I've got back into the 'Quad Light Bumper' build! Here's the basic shape so far.
