    Have had that off vehicle and it felt it had equal resistance in either direction, have you had experience of this then? You sound very certain!!

    I think my next job is to check/change the rear shocks. Changed the rear upper bushes recently, not sure but I think it may have got worse since! So I'll check the shocks and mounts again. Swivels are ok - checked them! And I don't have a roofrack - disco won't go in my garage with it fitted!!

    Too early to tell I think, they don't look scuffed. Tracking should be ok 'cos I only changed balljoints on drag link between lh wheel and steering box drop arm - but might be worth checking anyway thanks!!

    Nope - I've got 235/70's fitted. It does also do it on other roads more noticeable on straight roads - I also think the body roll has increased, I have checked the anti-roll bars/bushes and they look ok but I'm not sure how much movement is the norm!

    Anyone had know any possible causes for a disco to wander, particularly at high speed on the motorway? I've adjusted the steering box to remove the backlash, replaced the drag link ball-joints, had two new tyres fitted to the front and had the tracking corrected and changed the rear shock upper...

    Just read about codbasher's alternator probs - my charge light was on before I changed the alternator - are there any other earth points that might be dodgy - I have checked the one between the starter and chassis and its fine.

    Help! After fitting a new alternator and carb my landy won't turnover. I have also fitted a new battery. All I get is the clunk of strarter solenoid, however if I connect a jump lead from the -ve terminal to the block or starter itself the it will turn about one revolution then stop! The battery...
