    Thanks for all the input, comments that is not shafts. I'm petty sure it is in the transfer box as I was underneath while a trusted friend rocked it back and forth. I will start with the PTO cover and work out. There is a tad too much play in the frt axle but not enough to account for all of it...

    Hello

    Just got myself a '93 Discovery, 129000 miles and a bit worse for wear but it was cheap, it has 5 months tax and 12 months MOT and except for some drive train lash, (front axle I think) seems to run ok. This years winter project. Hopefully it will be ready to go to Morocco in Feb when I'm going...
