HD Rear Cross Member from Pressbrake

Just a slight word of warning regarding Clive's products: I had a crossmember and a HD bumper fitted to my Defender. Turns out they were actually too good: someone else liked them so much that they stole the Defender they were attached to. :violent:

Security from the Scum of the Earth

Have to say, having had my Defender stolen off my drive a few weeks ago, the one thing I wish I had fitted was a tracker. It had an alarm and immobiliser, but they seem to have got past them without any problems.

    Security devices...

Probably worth remembering that thieves don't have to be able to start your Defender in order to nick it. Mine was apparently pushed off the drive, and then, I reckon, towed away. It had a decent immobiliser on it, so although I'm not 100%, I think it would have been easier for them to just tow...

    Stolen Defender, Birmingham/Worcs, R292 PAG

Had an aftermarket alarm and immobiliser, but that's it. With hindsight I wish it'd had a bit more. Looks as though they've pushed it off the drive, judging by the footprints. It's a 90, mostly grey, with white roof. Really annoyed about the whole thing, as I've kept ahead of the game on it...

    Stolen Defender, Birmingham/Worcs, R292 PAG

Morning all, Woke up this morning to find my Defender has been pinched off my drive. Reg is R292 PAG, and it is mostly grey coloured. The back door was currently a nasty yellow filler-primer colour, awaiting me to finish repainting it. It's got a snorkel, alloys, and a snazzy galvanised tow...

HD Rear Cross Member from Pressbrake

Another big fan of Clive here - did my 90's rear crossmember - best quality and best price, by a mile. Also bought an HD front bumper from him which is amazing quality too. It'll be a shame if he stops making Land Rover parts - I don't know what's happened, but I guess people behind keyboards...

    Defender Bike Rack

Not cheap, but Thule make good tow-bar mounted bike racks with integrated light/numberplate bars. Got to be better than hanging all the weight off your rear door. Thule 9503 RideOn 3-bike Towball Carrier | eBay (although actually they don't seem too pricey second hand, so could be cheap...

    Rust protection durability

Don't know how much it really matters, but I've been told not to use old engine oil because various additives/contaminants make it acidic and it therefore eats the chassis. Suspect that there's an element of "it's bad for the environment" built into this claim though.

Rear Cross members for Defender and Series

My Defender had it's MOT last week, and the tester commented on the quality of the replaced crossmember - he was very impressed!

    Rust protection durability

I reckon a patient and thorough DIY job will get just as good coverage as a professional job (particularly on the outside of the chassis). In my experience, the inside of your chassis (particularly if your Defender is a few years old) will be filled with mud and general crap that is practically...

Britpart or Terrafirma? For 110 TD5

I accidentally ended up with Britpart brake calipers front and rear, and Britpart discs on the rear. 18 months on, calipers are absolutely fine. Discs have only been on a short while, but no problems yet. In contrat, Britpart rocker cover gasket has leaked for all eternity.

Rear Cross members for Defender and Series

Here are some photos - this is before I painted it. Surface rust is just the result of a wet journey back from Essex. I'll put some more photos up once I've finished painting it all.

Rear Cross members for Defender and Series

Hello all, I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster - so sorry if this appears spammy; it's not, just wanted to relay a positive experience. Having read this thread I decided to give Clive a go and get him to supply and fit a corssmember for my 90. Obviously I was as skeptical as many people...
