Sorry should have made that clearer ment check and make sure diesel flows to the injector pump clearly first and that it's definitely getting to it and not after it before assuming it's the solenoid

Don't be disheartened, use it as a chance to future proof the disco, box section sills aren't difficult to do and very nice job when done, haven't done my boot floor but its due next year it's in bad shape. I've got a 640 tractor battery, GS Hercules I think it's called. It replaced a 644 varta that was a complete let down, if you didn't time the glow plugs just right or forgot n flicked the key you had no hope, had to get a jump. Got the 640 about 6 months ago and am extremely impressed with it...

I rollered mine.... Orange peely but ahwell looks about a million times better than corroded alumium, anyway, brush it on and thin it out too.. Also D1s looks class in NATO green
