Thanks James, I need to know if the axle has a 10 spline or 24 spline diff. That is the reason I need the axle number.

hi folk, on the work manual it mentionas that the axle identification number is on the top left of the axle tube. Can anybody be more specific to as where is it stamped? I've cleaned out most the axle and I still cant find the number. Is it placed near to the wheel or near to the diff ? Any help...

hi Munster, In my 300tdi, the heated rear glass in the boot area is on the opposite side to the driver. I've got a left hand drive, and that glass on the opposite side gives me a clear view from the drivers seat; I don't need the driver's side heated 'cause I can't look out trought it..... !!!

I cleaned out the engine bay, 'cause I had a broken PAS pump pressure tube and every thing got mucked up with hidraulic fluid..... Nice and clean to work again...

you mean to say there is no replacement for the inertia switch and you have to change the complete bloody alarme ECU ?? :confused: That's a lot of money on its way.... I think I'll use the "switch off and on" system :D

hi again, that's not right. If you tap a +12 lead to the white+pink cable on the console switch, this does not bypass the safety button. You only bypass the timer on the window control box. The safety button actuates on the earth cable, not on the liva cable. I have it done like this on my car

hi IanFi, I can't tell you where the controll box sits on your truck ( I have a LHD Disco 1). I had the same problem with the rear windos, and I coud not get to the window controll box. I took a contact switched +12 lead and joined it to the "white with a pink band" cable on any of the rear...

Wich would be a recomendable web place to get ones spare parts for LR ? So far as I can see, Paddock's is not as bad as that, but if we take into consideration price / service.... where else can we find a better option ? :rolleyes:

all I can say is I have a Disco 1, 1998, 300Tdi with 288.000 Kilometers on it, and I have never been let me down..... May be I'm a fortunate man, but I realy thrust mt landy. I'ts the best I've ever had.

I think it's 0.2 on all valves on 300TDI, hope this helps...:):D
