hi, can anybody help, mechanics are baffled with this fault, freelander 1998 1.8 just will not run, diagnostic says there is a problem with the code from ecm to ecu and that it may be corrupt, so we replaced with new and it still says the same, anyone come accross this before that can HELP PLEASE.

Sounds like its in limp mode, must go on computer im afraid.
