Update to the situation - I have cleaned all the contacts (temp sender, ECU) from oil, temp sender is giving out correct resistance (I have compared it to the table I have found in LR forums), but gauge is still dead. Could it be earth problem in instrument panel?

Seems like exactly the same problem on my Disco 2 TD5 '99 - gauge isn't moving at all. I only checked the temp sender near top hose and head connection. It has resistance between pins and - if I disconnect it - red light in dashboards lit's up. Now the questions - where else I should look for...
