SASBOB u just hit the nail on the head. It is direct to the starter motor and that's why I need a relay then. So why has the mechanic asked me to also get a 35 amp button start? I thought a 10amp one should do the trick.

I am slightly confused by the conflicting advice. I think I need to go On a course for my Disco:) Seriously though I think I may just call an auto electrician. Thanks

I already have a switch installed but need to correct the work done as it burnt out my starter motor:) firstly I have been told by the garage who will correct it to get a 40amp relay and secondly to get a 35amp button start! Is that correct? And if so where can I het it from?

Well it took me by surprise a little as that switch has been in there for a long time. However the switch is a little flimsy and does feel like is is sticking. So I need to get a 40amp relay followed by a push button start. The guy at the garage said I need a 35amp button start. I can't seem to...

well i got the disco back from the garage today. Found out something a little startling! firstly the cause of the problem was the starter motor. replaced and now working.
