    Defender TD5 knocking from underside

Hi all, I've done a search but there are so many responses to this issue that it didn't help for once. I've got a knocking coming from the underside of my Defender TD5 110sw. It happens on mildly rough surfaces (old roads or gravel car parks) as a dull knock knock. Particularly if the steering...

Can I tow my caravan on my licence?

No worries, it's good info and as good a thread as any for it to be.

Can I tow my caravan on my licence?

Essentially yes, you can tow a heavier trailer with your freelander. As long as the total train weight isn't over 3500kg. Still not clear on my part though, is it just the combined listed weights of the truck/van, or the physical weights once they are full with my wife's crap?

Can I tow my caravan on my licence?

Not bloody simple is it?! Right I own a 1999 Defender 110 Station wagon TD5 which my research tells me is just under 2000kg (please correct me if that's wrong) I also own a caravan which is 850kg Totalling 2850kg (smrt me) However I have a post 1997 licence which only allows me a class...

    Notchy power steering

394 days later, I did a 'search FFS' and found the solution. +1 for Ratty. Half way to work this morning the steering suddenly got VERY stiff (fnar fnar). Checked the belt was still on (TD5 so I'm glad it was!) and that the fluid was ok so drove home to look on here. Sprayed the steering...

TD5 Defender immobiliser rapidly flashing when button pressed?

Sorry was wrong there. its not that pressing the button does nothing, but that I have to press it twice before it does anything, as if it's intentionally like that rather than not registering the first press. Does anyone know what battery these take?

TD5 Defender immobiliser rapidly flashing when button pressed?

Ok double checked this morning. I put the key in the ignition and press the fob button (pressing the button does nothing otherwise - a new development) and the red light goes "flash-flash" 19 times (it might be 20, will count again later) Any ideas? @Dobbs, thanks for the suggestion. Will find...

TD5 Defender immobiliser rapidly flashing when button pressed?

As it says on the tin really. The immobiliser light has a slow repetitive flash when locked, open up a door and the light comes on and stays on, usually pressing the fob button turns it off. But now: when I press the button, the immobiliser light blinks rapidly, the engine starts, but the light...

    Defender engine names by year

Got a bit of an issue.. maybe. Been phoning round for service pricing my TD5, or so I thought. It says TD5 on the body, and the engine cover says TD5 on it, but one of the garages said "No sir, that registration is for a SWTDI" Sure enough, thats what it says on the log book. Now its...

TD5 Defender radiator leak - radweld?

Wotcha. I've got a leak on my 99 TD5 defender. Its coming from the top right hand corner of the radiator (as you look at from the front of the landy) it appears to be coming from where the rad fins go into a metal housing. doesn't look like its from a loose pipe. I've just worked out it...
