I replaced the bolts with the mls. I'm tempted to try a good old single layer gasket again. It will prob go but the last one lasted me 50k and the mls lasted 60 miles. You can see on the cylinder head the water marks where it has gone through the layers of mls.

Im pressure testing it at weekend. So might give me some ideas. It's either that or liners have dropped. Although no signs of major trouble as starts first time. Ticks over perfectly and never runs rough. Also no signs of probe on the plugs. Which confuses me

looking like a new cylinder head then!! Cant fail on fixing it now, its become a project and an obsession. its only a second car so gets done as and when.

hey guys, still having probs with the freelander. has anybody had a mls gasket failure? or a faulty gasket. im thinking of changing it as cannot think of anything else it could be. to recap on whats been done. headgasket blew, replaced with MLS gasket. new waterpump timing belt +other belts...
