Cracking write up just changed mine today using this guide. All in all about 3 hours i removed the rear seats for better access as it was just 4 bolts each seat :)

Had a similar issue with mine stripped it down and found the spring was all corroded cleaned it all up lubricated with oil and refitted has been good for at least 18 months + now. As said dead easy job took me about 1/2 hr to do

Reading through it seems to have been the driver pack in the end.

Lone wolf where did you buy the hog rings and pliers from as this sounds like a much better/easier way of doing it. :D cheers Steve

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare glad you got it sorted :) have the opposite with my tailgate (p38) does not close :lol:

Did mine couple of months back planned on changing the matrix at same time but after struggling to remove the clamp screw decided it could wait lol i used a ratchet plus several extensions with socket bit to remove screw couldn't get enough torque to loosen screw with just a screwdriver ...
