I didnt buy a glasspack, I used a genuine arvin LR backbox which i had lying round from my old Disco TD5, I cut the flange off the genuine V8 midbox and *welded* :) it to the TD5 backbox and bolted it to the end of the Y section! Its a stumpy but largely round straight through thing. Its good...

I did it! Bought some flux cored wire and gav e it a crack, welded the flange from the stock midbox to a td5 stumpy backbox and bolted it up, pretty chuffed with some of my welds towards the end, they looked really good! I have that distinctive noise, hedmans, decatted and round glasspacked...

So how does one fit this vacuum advance thingymebob, does the whole dissy assembly need to be removed? Mine has no resistance either way, can suck and blow through the pipe, the pipe itself is fine.
