Just to clarify the footwell - from inside - is solid. Actually looks like it was replaced at some point. Maybe it’s just a remnant of the old panel? I’ll have to get underneath with a torch for a better look.

I had my 110 MOT'd last week and they noticed the passenger footwell panel above the outrigger has corroded through. I wasn't aware that they were double skinned as the footwells from inside are fine. When I was looking to buy my Landy I saw quite a few that had rusted footwells (from inside)...

That’s what I thought but then how come the studs are too wide for the tubes?

I'm not sure - it appears there are different types of studs and one seems wider (the type on my door top which won't fit) and the others - see these images of them. Same part number however........

I've got to remove my tops to fix the rattles etc. I know that the studs are threaded both ends so it will 'just' be a case of gripping what you can to undo them if they snap. I'm waiting for a day I can devote to this because it will no doubt be more trouble than it should be!
